My name is Taylor Willis and I am blessed to be married to my amazing husband Josh and be the mother to our precious son Jude. As we began this journey as new parents in 2019, we knew that big changes were headed our way. Throughout my pregnancy with our son I remember always dreading the famous line, “Sleep now, because you will never sleep again”. It seemed like sleep wasn’t going to be a part of our lives once our little bundle of joy came into the world. Our precious boy arrived and 10 weeks into his life I started witnessing what everyone was telling me about. The sleepless nights, confusion of whether or not he was tired or hungry, bouncing him until my arms felt like they would fall off and not to mention the increased anxiety and feelings of depression all beginning to consume me. I knew something needed to change, but I didn’t even know where to begin. I just knew we needed sleep.
I had heard about sleep training and from my “new mom” understanding that meant you had to let your baby cry for hours. I wasn’t interested in that and wanted to learn a way to teach my baby to sleep without pushing boundaries that I didn’t believe needed to be crossed. Through the many resources that I found on baby sleep, I began implementing gentle approaches to sleep condition my son at the age of 3 months old. By 4 months he was sleeping through the night (10-12 hours straight!). He was getting the rest he needed and we as parents were able to be the best versions of ourselves for our son!
It was then that I became a believer in sleep training and started my journey in becoming a pediatric sleep consultant so that I could help as many families find what we found…..rest. If you are ready I am too! Let’s do this together!
